I forgot about this

I should put my blogs from myspace on here so I have twice as many people reading it.

Wait, what is 0 times 2?

Don't bring me down..

scene from my script. Two men (George Curry, and Frank Torkleson) are driving late at night (3 am) in an old pickup. They try to find a radio station to listen to while driving through Eastern Washington. They're en route to Northern Idaho. There are only country stations or talk shows about alien ships. So they put in a CD and are listening to ELO's "Don't bring me down". Frank is singing along.

Frank Torkleson: "Youre always talkin bout your crazy nights,
One of these days youre gonna get it right. Dont bring me down,no no no no no, Ill tell you once more before I get off the floor Dont bring me down!

Dont bring me down, Bruce!
Dont bring me down, Bruce!
Dont bring me down, Bruce!"

Frank is interupted by George.

George: "It's Groos, not Bruce"
Frank: "What is Groos and not Bruce?"
G: "The lyric"
F: "The lyric is "don't bring me down Groos?"
G: "Yes. Now quit singing it"
F: "Wait, you're telling me that the lyric ISN'T Bruce? Who the hell, or better yet, what the hell is a Groos?"
G: "I don't know. It just is"
F: "That makes no sense. You sure it's not Bruce?"
G: "Yes. Why would a guy be telling another guy not to bring him down?"
F: "I don't know, maybe it's about two guys? Why would he be telling groos not to bring him down?"
G: "It's not a guy, you idiot"
F: "The person singing it?"
G: "No, the "groos" bit. It's like a foreign word. Like 'Don't bring me down, bitch!' Like it's a way of saying don't be such a bitch"
F: "Seriously? That totally ruins the song for me."
G: "Think about it." (George plays back the track)

They listen to the lyrics.

"You got me runnin goin out of my mind,
You got me thinkin that Im wastin my time.
Dont bring me down,no no no no no,
Ill tell you once more before I get off the floor
Dont bring me down.

You wanna stay out with your fancy friends.
Im tellin you its go to be the end,
Dont bring me down,no no no no no no no no,
Ill tell you once more before I get off the floor
Dont bring me down."

G: "See? Thats about a guy telling a woman to kiss his ass"
F: "No it isn't"
G: "Have you ever actually listened to the lyrics of the song?" (George replays the last part of the song)

"What happend to the girl I used to known,
You let your mind out somewhere down the road,
Dont bring me down,no no no no no,
I'll tell you once more before I get off the floor
Dont bring me down.

Youre always talkin bout your crazy nights,
One of these days you're gonna get it right.
Dont bring me down,no no no no no,
I'll tell you once more before I get off the floor
Dont bring me down."

G: "See? Now do you understand?"
F: "shut up"

They go on listening to the next song, One night in bangkok, by Murray Head.

F: "Ok, you can't tell me this isn't about sex"
G: "Nope, it's about a chess tournament"

Mahalo lu le, Mahalo lu la, Keeni waka pula

Since MB hasn't been able to respond yet, I'll entertain you with this little blurb.

Now that I have lost my Diane,
there's no plans as to where to go.

It was hard to lose my Diane,
now I just miss her so.

Everything is old and nothing is new.
All I ever do is think of you.
Memories haunt me night and day.

Do you think of me my Diane?
Or have you forgotten me?
Did you think that you were chained down
and now; that you are free?

Everything is wrong and nothing is right.
I want you back with all of my might.
Shadows hanging over my head.

I love you, Diane.

I miss you, Diane.

Everything is wrong and nothing is right.
I want you back with all of my might.

goodbye faithful reader (goodbye to you too, Dan)

more musings from me

On ABC's "perspectives" (radio) they broadcasted the interview they did (I'm not sure if it's been broadcasted on tv yet) with Jill Carroll. You remember who Jill Carroll is, dontcha America? That hottie who got abducted in Iraq, and then let go (and probably let go our memories too).

anyways, it was a really interesting interview. She's significantly stronger than I could even fake. I don't know how she hasn't gone nuts, or woken up with horrible nightmares. They also talked about how people are able to let go of their anger, when it comes to their capturers, or the people who kidnap and/or kill their children.

I truely thinkt hat if that happened to my child, and I knew who did it, the person wouldn't make it to prison.

I know that I shouldn't feel that way, but it's hard to not want to have some kind of revenge (physically) against the person who did something of that magnitude to you. I know that in the end, we all get what we have coming, but it's hard to wait that long while the person who took your childs life, is alive.

Review time

DVD I recently watched: Trinity and Beyond the Atomic Movie.

Really good. I suggest history buffs get it, and watch it.

I'm also reading (well starting) to read the 2nd book (that I know of I mean) by Andrew Carroll about war corrospondence.

"War Letters: Extraordinary Correspondence from American Wars
by Andrew Carroll (Editor), Douglas Brinkley, Douglas G. Brinkley (Foreword by)"

and
"Behind the Lines: Powerful and Revealing American and Foreign War Letters and One Man's Search to Find Them"

Ive read the Behind the Lines one. It was a solid read, especially if you like history. He does a masterful job of getting behind the info said in each letter, and explains what code words meant, etc.

Get em!

Another CD Review

this time, only a few years behind.

Brian Wilson Presents Pet Sounds live. It's a lot better than I thought it'd be, and I strongly suggest it for Pet Sounds fans, or even those who aren't Brianistas. I question those peoples sanity.

Brian Wilson live at the Roxy

It's been 6 years, but I finally got my hands on Brian Wilson live at the Roxy. Really nice cd.

Even though I'm not a fan of live music (so much), this is a good one. The wondermints (and the "Brian Wilson" band) make up for Brians aging voice.

I wish I had gone to seen him.
