The coast

I spent yesterday at the Oregon Coast (Lincoln City actually). Although I did drive down to Newport Oregon (it's my preference), I spent most of the day on the beach or meditating. The beaches there aren't nearly as nice as Newports, but by the time I got down to Newport, and checked out the stores I normally check out only to find out that the people who I went down there for are gone, it was time to head back to LC.

Earlier today, I referenced my Great Aunt Enid (Enid Nuechterlein) and my late grandmother in a "post". It was about playing pinochle on ESPN 8 (the ocho). I gave my grandmothers maiden name (don't need anyone looking her up). So I think to myself, "self, I wonder if Great Aunt Enid is searchable". Lo and Behold, she is. Her name is referenced in an obit for another one of my great aunts, Janice. No mention of my grandmother (she died in 98, and Jan died in 2004), but also no mention of my great aunt Winnie, who is still alive.

Someday I hope to find a reference to a painting my grandmother did somewhere. She did a lot of abstract. here is one.

It's actually one that I am in possession of, and one of my favorites. Some of her paintings were awful dark in nature, However some weren't.
This one is one of her more popular ones among our family. Some claim it's a picture she painted of my dad and grandfather at my grandparents house in Spokane Washington, but she claimed it was inspired by an "Eastern European" scene she saw in National Geographic (if my memory serves me).

Since she's not around to answer, I guess we'll not know for certain anytime soon.
