lest ye be saddended...d..

I haven't forgotten about this blog. I've just had nothing worthwhile to say.

Interesting thing. If you google (image) search "Lionel Hollins", on the 2nd page there's a picture of me (the one you see here on the blog, so it's not like it's new).

strange tho.

My nephews and niece visitied earlier this month for 3 weeks. Drained me mentally just a bit. Then on the 13th, my brother and his wife introduced the world to their 1st son, Brendan. I like to say it's named after me (partially) because his name contains mine, but I know he's not.

I don't trust those "google people searches". It has said at one time or another, I live 15 miles south of here. Where here is, is not important.

I'm currently making 50 cd's for my brother in law's surprise birthday party. Each one has like 100+ mp3's on it, and almost 7 hours of songs on it. Takes a bit of time. And unlike some people, (awell, at least back in the day) I bought all of the songs that are on it. No illegal crap here.

Well, I doubt thats much of a problem anymore.

Now, onto more fun stuff. The Trail Blazers. Yes, they're my favorite team (as the email address implies). Yes, we've gone through some bad times (and yes, I do refer to them as "we" sometimes). But I really like what the team did. Getting rid of Theo was a good thing, altho I'm not super happy that they got rid of Sebastian, I am under the impression he wasn't as sad about that as you'd hope. Can't say I blame him.

I like who we drafted, altho I wanted Morrison. I wasn't upset we didn't draft him. Btw, the idiots at the fan and especially John Canzano, stole my "draft the 'stache" movement. That ruined it for me.

Re: team moving. I'm rather tired of the media, and especially idiot fans, saying the team will move. It's just not worth it, financially, for Paul Allen (hey paul, bring back the beard. We miss the beard Paul. Plus, as someone who has no chin and upper lip, I know that a beard does wonders for one's appearance.) to sell the team. Oh sure, he has more money than all but a few people, but why would he want to spend the money to pay off the city (which despite what some think, would be a LOT of money), and then pay the $$ to move (to seattle, we all like to assume to make us seem smart)..and THEN build a new arena. And thats in a fan-base thats not historically as strong as the Blazers one is (tho they're not bad fans..they just have the Huskies, Seahawks and Mariners to bother them..whereas we have triple A baseball, and the Winterhawks).

So now that the Sonics were sold for 350 bills (340 technically) he knows that the Blazers, who like the Sonics don't have an arena in their name, are now worth more than the 120-150 million he was putting the team at earlier. Now he can buy the arena back (just do it paul!) and then he knows that A: the team and arena will be worth more than the 150 million the team is "worth" and the cost of buying the RG back and B: he'll have the profits of the RG again to help.

I've lost my train of thought.

Anyways, once the team becomes good again (hopefully sooner, rather than later), the teams' value will increase again, as will the fans interests. And say, by some stroke of the luck that never happens to the Blazers, we get Oden...holy batmobile, robin! Thats just sick.

So, put away the tin foil hat junior, the team ain't moving.

The last 3-5 days have been very hot in Portland. Those who moved out of Portland (well, since I know that the only one who will read this will be MB, since i'm going to link him..hi MB!) don't know what they're missing. 102 degree weather in Portland.

Ok, so thats not actually THAT unusual.

I'll leave you with this little song.
Every day she takes a morning bath s e wets her hair,
Wraps a towel around her
As shes heading for the bedroom chair,
Its just another day.
Slipping into stockings,
Stepping into shoes,
Dipping in the pocket of her raincoat.
Ah, its just another day.

I guess thast not the last of what I want to write. I honestly think that the Blazers should have the guys (the players) do vidoe music type things, like they used to do with the team back in the day. They had the guys playing big band instruments, etc. this time, have them "singing" songs from the 70's, 80's and 90's..or something. I mean shoot, this IS the 30th anniversary of the title team.

good lord, has it been 30 years? I just made every blazer fan over the age of 27 feel really old. You are welcome.
